This event will be hosted by WMEAC on September 9th, 2017 from 8:30am until 1pm! There will be a small breakfast available before the event and a light lunch after the event. Live music will be provided during lunch!
This year, as an exciting addition to the cleanup, WMEAC is partnering with the SEEDS of promise neighborhood in collaboration with their Environmental Impact Team to pick up litter along road sides and storm drains in a proactive attempt to pick up trash before it enters into our beautiful Grand River!
8:30am – 9am : Volunteer Check In and Breakfast
9:00 – 9:15 : Welcoming Remarks
9:15 – 9:30: Load up buses
9:30 – 11:00 – Clean up the Grand River!
11:00 – 11:30 – Travel back to 6th Street Park
11:30 – 1pm – Lunch is served! Founders beer for those 21+.
*All cold cups, coffee cups and lids, plates, napkins, food, etc. at this event are compostable materials. There will be labeled Recycle Box Bins around the event for compost, recycling, landfill and returnables. Members of our Headquarters Team will be there to assist you, but please do your part by reusing materials and appropriately disposing of waste to help us keep this a sustainable event – especially since our goal is to keep our watersheds free of trash!*
