Native Plant Gardening is Growing at the Institute!
This spring marks the return of the Native Plant Sale at the Institute! While this annual plant sale was popular in the past, this year’s sale is fundamentally different. One of the major changes is that the Institute’s stewardship staff propagated all of the plants for sale in the newly constructed greenhouse. Propagating the plants at the Institute has many advantages: it reduces the cost of the plants for purchasers and increases the proceeds that go directly to the Institute in support of its mission. In addition, visitors will be able to tour the growing operations, view demonstration gardens, and talk to stewardship staff about plant selection and care. This year’s sale will be Saturday, May 11 from 8 am – 3 pm.
Pre-sale orders are now being accepted online. Call (269)721-4190 or visit CedarCreekInstitute.org to place your order by Friday, May 3. All pre-sale orders can be picked up at the sale on May 11, or an alternate pick-up time can be scheduled by contacting Stewardship Manager Corey Lucas at firstname.lastname@example.org or (269)721-4198.
