Living the Mission

LtM focuses on working with students from schools in disadvantaged communities or schools that serve disadvantaged communities.

What is Living the Mission?

In the spring of 2025, LGROW was awarded funding from the Great Lakes Fishery Trust (GLFT) to expand place-based stewardship education (PBSE) in the watershed. With this funding, LGROW implemented a brand new PBSE project called “Living the Mission” (LtM).

LtM focuses on working with students from schools in disadvantaged communities or schools that serve disadvantaged communities. Students begin with watershed-based education and learn about the many threats facing our water bodies; they also learn about potential solutions to water quality issues and how they can get involved.

In short, LtM seeks to take students from watershed learning to watershed stewardship.
