Pierce Cedar Creek Institute Native Plant Sale

Native Plants Available from the Pierce Cedar Creek Institute Greenhouses

Are you interested in providing food and habitat for birds, butterflies, and bees in your area? Then the best choice you can make is to add some native plants to your yard. Adding even one new native plant a year can help increase connectivity for species across the landscape. By adding native plants to our properties, we can unite our small patch of habitat with others in the community and beyond!

To provide the community with native plants that support wildlife, the Institute’s stewardship staff has been growing plants in their greenhouses, giving them a head start on the growing season by allowing a strong root structure to be in place before they are added to your garden. The Institute is selling these native grasses and wildflowers on Saturday, May 16. All proceeds from the plant sale will support Pierce Cedar Creek Institute programs.

The Pierce Cedar Creek Institute Native Plant Sale will have over 40 species of native grasses and wildflowers available to provide diversity for your garden or natural area. This year plants have been identified for specific goals, such as wet or shade tolerant and early or late blooming; check out the order form for details. Pre-sale orders are being accepted online at CedarCreekInstitute.org or by phone at (269)721-4190. Pre-sale orders are due by Friday, May 8 to give stewardship staff time to prepare for pick-up day at the Institute on May 16 from 8 am – 3 pm. If an alternative pick-up time is required, email or call to schedule one with Stewardship Manager Corey Lucas at lucasc@ cedarcreekinstitute.org or (269)721-4198.
