Call for Abstracts

DEADLINE EXTENDED

The Lower Grand River Organization of Watersheds (LGROW) is pleased to announce the 17th Annual Grand River Spring Forum in partnership with Grand Valley State University’s Making Waves Initiative. The Grand River Watershed is facing threats similar to other watersheds across the state, from increasing population densities to weather-related disasters for farmers. This year's forum will focus on watershed resiliency through various topics. 

Attendees in the past have included:

  • Municipal and Regional Government Officials and Agencies

  • Engineers, Scientists, Students and Educators

  • Regulatory Officials

  • Watershed Organizations, Advocates and Residents

LGROW is currently seeking abstracts for the Forum’s ‘Shed Talks! These are 15-minute presentations, followed by 5-minutes of Q & A. If interested, please submit a brief abstract by Monday March 16th, 2020 to info@lgrow.org, with the following information: presenter name, title, employer, phone, and e-mail address, working title for presentation (8 words max), and a written summary of the presentation (500 words max).

Watershed professionals, scientists, municipal leaders, agricultural professionals, and other related professionals are encouraged to submit abstracts on topics related to the following topics;

  • Urban Watershed Issues/Low Impact Development

  • Innovative Resiliency Projects and Case Studies

  • Community/Watershed Policies

  • Sustainable Agriculture

Abstracts will be reviewed by LGROW Board members and staff, and acceptance notifications will be sent out by Friday March 27th, 2020. Questions may be directed to info@lgrow.org.
