The West MI Healthy Climate Plan (WMHCP) is a regional effort led by the Grand Valley Metro Council (GVMC) to identify practical ways to reduce harmful emissions, create access to sustainable practices, and improve quality of life across Kent, Ottawa, Ionia, and Montcalm counties. The plan has brought together local governments, community organizations, businesses, residents, and technical experts to identify opportunities in areas like transportation, energy, waste, and agriculture.
Now, as we move into the next stage of the work, we want to know two things: What matters most to the people who live here, and who is ready to help move those priorities forward?
For residents: Take the Community Impact Survey to share your priorities, experiences, and perspectives on climate-related programs and solutions in your community.
For local governments, businesses, and community organizations: Take the Community Leadership Survey to help us understand what organizations are already doing, where there are opportunities to collaborate, and how we can build a stronger regional coalition for climate action.
These surveys are an important final opportunity to provide input this year—and your participation will help GVMC and its partners better understand where to focus resources, build partnerships, and support the communities we serve.
